Monster Horror
Name this cheap '50s horror flick featuring giant monster eggs?
What is the name of the '50s black and white B horror movie about a scientist who finds and attempts to incubate some large old eggs belonging to a dinosaur or a sea monster? They eventually hatch and all hell breaks loose. The setting is in a desert area of California.
If it's one egg, I would think this one:
The Monster That Challenged the World (1957)
starring Tim Holt, Audrey Dalton, Hans Conried, Casey Adams (aka Max Showalter), Mimi Gibson
IMDb synopsis:
An earthquake unleashes a giant mollusk in California's Salton Sea. The site is near a military base and the first victim is a Navy skydiver testing parachutes and the two sailors sent to collect him from the water. Soon, Naval Investigator Lt. Commander John "Twill" Twillinger is on the case. They find the sailors' boat which is covered with a white goo. Navy divers begin looking for the missing men and recover a large, round sac that is sent to the base lab. One of the divers is killed in an encounter with the creature, and they think the crisis might be over. They don't realize that the sac they transported to the lab is in fact the creature's egg. Another mollusk hatches, this time on the base.

This is one of my all-time favorite films, especially in the creatures category, and have watched it no less than 100 times. During the late Fifties and throughout the Sixties, it played frequently on TV, which used such movies as this one, "Donovan's Brain", "King Kong" (1933) and others as fillers because there wasn't much regular programming.
