What's the word on a third season of Black Lagoon ...?
I really enjoyed the first two anime, and read over at ANN that a third season was given the green light for production.
Has it begun production yet?
Is it airing in Japan yet?
Any information on its progress would be appreciated?

I don't know where "anonymous" got his/her information, but Black Lagoon Season 3 has NOT aired yet. In the anime line-up for the current season, no Black Lagoon series was mentioned at all.
If it had been, you would also be seeing it at various bittorrent sites by now.
While they did give it the "go ahead" I think it will be some time in 2009 before the Japanese see any of it. That means that we won't see it in an R1 release until about 8 months to a year later.
